Every time you set your AirPods Pro 2 case on a charger, it plays a little ding to tell you it started charging. It is a nice confirmation the first few times, and then it is just noise, especially if you charge them on the nightstand at night. Here is how to shut that sound off for good. It takes about ten seconds in your iPhone settings.
Turn off the charging case sound
The setting lives inside your AirPods settings on the iPhone, and it only shows up when the AirPods are connected. So keep them nearby before you start.
- Open the AirPods case lid so the AirPods connect to your iPhone.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your AirPods Pro at the very top of the settings list.
- Scroll to the bottom and find Charging Case Sounds.
- Uncheck that box.
That is it. The case will no longer beep when you plug it in to charge.
If the setting is greyed out
If Charging Case Sounds is greyed out or you do not see your AirPods at the top of Settings, they are not connected. Open the case lid next to your phone and wait a second for them to link up, then go back into Settings. Once they are connected, the option becomes tappable.
