Effective date: November 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Adam Talks Tech (“Adam Talks Tech,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit adamtalks.tech, how we use it, and the choices you have. Adam Talks Tech is based in the United States.
This policy covers the adamtalks.tech website only. When you comment on, message, or follow Adam Talks Tech on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, or other platforms, that platform’s own privacy policy applies.
Information you give us
We only collect personal information you choose to send us, through forms like these:
- Email signups (newsletter, deals, the SSD guide, Mac tests and other free resources): your email address and, if you enter it, your first name.
- Mac and iPad advice forms (/mac and /ipad): your name, email, and what you tell us about your budget, how you use your devices, and what you’re looking for.
- Contact form: your name, email, and your message.
- Brand and partnership inquiries (/work-with-me): your name, company, email, and the details of your inquiry.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the site, some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies:
- Usage data, like pages you visit, how long you stay, the site or video that sent you here (including tracking codes in links, called UTM parameters), your general location (city or region), and your device and browser type.
- Form source data. When you submit a form, we may record which page, link, or video brought you to it, so we know what content is helpful.
- Browser storage. Some pages store a small note in your browser (localStorage) so that once you’ve signed up, you don’t have to sign up again to see gated results like the SSD guide or Mac tests. This stays on your device.
How we use your information
- To send you the emails you signed up for, like the newsletter, deals, and resources.
- To reply to your Mac or iPad advice request, your message, or your brand inquiry.
- To tag your email subscription by topic (for example, the Mac model we recommended) so the emails and deals you get are relevant to you.
- To understand which videos, pages, and emails people find useful, so we can make better content.
- To keep the site working, secure, and free of spam.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Services we use
We rely on a few trusted services to run the site. Each has its own privacy policy:
- WordPress.com / Jetpack (Automattic): hosts the site and runs our forms and basic site stats.
- Kit (ConvertKit): stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Metricool: measures site traffic alongside our social media stats.
- Akismet (Automattic): checks form submissions for spam.
- Google Analytics: measures site traffic and how visitors use the site. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- YouTube (Google): videos embedded on the site are served by YouTube, which may set its own cookies when you play them.
- Geniuslink: powers our geni.us shopping links and routes you to the right store for your country.
- Google Workspace: our business email.
Affiliate links
Many links on adamtalks.tech are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate and a B&H affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases. We also work with other retailers, like Best Buy and Walmart. For the full list of affiliate programs, paid partners and brand relationships, see the Ethics & Affiliate Relationships page.
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer (and Geniuslink, for geni.us links) may set cookies to track that the purchase came from us. We never see your name, payment details, or what else you buy. We only see totals like clicks and sales.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though you may need to sign up again to see gated pages, and affiliate purchases may not be credited to us.
Emails
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also opt out of just deal emails and keep the rest. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you but may keep your address on a suppression list so you don’t get added back by mistake.
How long we keep information
We keep your email signup details for as long as you’re subscribed. We keep form submissions and messages as long as we need them to respond and keep reasonable records. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics retention settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example, California, other US states with privacy laws, the UK, or the EU), you may have additional rights, like the right to object to certain uses of your data. To make a request, reach out through our contact page. We may need to confirm it’s really you before acting on a request.
If you’re in the EU or UK, we process your information based on your consent (for email signups), to respond to your requests, and for our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. Some of the services above store data in the United States.
Children’s privacy
adamtalks.tech is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use reputable services and reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of sending or storing data online is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page.
