Apple has launched several great products in 2026, but it still feels like the company is holding back. There are plenty of rumors floating around about what is coming next, and I also have a few personal dreams I would love to see happen.
So here are my five picks. Some are products that are almost certainly on the way, and some are ideas I came up with because I think they would fill a real gap in the lineup. This is my wishlist, not a leak sheet, and I am curious how much of it you agree with.
An 11-inch MacBook Neo at $600
This first one is mine. I want an 11-inch MacBook Neo, and I want it priced around $600. Give it the Touch ID button and 512GB of storage and it would be a dream machine for a lot of people.
The part that would really set it apart is a cellular antenna. Add that and this becomes the perfect email, instant messaging, and on-the-go productivity computer for anyone who needs to do the things an iPad or iPhone cannot handle on the go. The old 11-inch MacBook Air form factor was awesome, and I would love to see it reborn under the MacBook Neo name.
An M5 Mac Mini priced to move
The M5 Mac Mini has to be coming soon. The real question is the price and the base specs. Apple already discontinued the 256GB version of the M4 Mac Mini, so right now the M4 model starts at $800 with a 512GB SSD after the cheaper $600 option went away.
Here is what I want Apple to do. Split the difference: start the M5 Mac Mini at 512GB of storage and bring it in at $700. That would be aggressively priced and an amazing buy for anyone who wants a desktop lying around the house, or a small machine for running AI agents.
The M5 chip is a big reason this matters. Apple made significant gains in AI performance by putting neural accelerators on every GPU core, which is exactly why the M5 would be so good in the Mini. Pair that with 512GB and you have plenty of room for applications and the rest of the Apple ecosystem features.
A full M5 Mac Studio, Max and Ultra
Last generation, Apple launched the Mac Studio with the M4 Max and the M3 Ultra, which was a confusing decision. This time I want to see Apple finally ship both the M5 Max and the M5 Ultra in the same generation.
The value case is strong. An M5 Max Mac Studio hopefully starting at $2,000 would look like a no-brainer next to the very expensive M5 Max MacBook Pro. You get amazing power and lots of ports, which makes it the machine for local AI workflows, video editing, and anything in that range.
My dream would be for Apple to kill off the 512GB starting capacity and begin at 1TB while holding that $2,000 price. That seems unlikely, because when Apple drops the smaller storage tier it usually nudges the price up. So realistically it lands around $2,200, but an M5 Max with a terabyte at $2,200 would still be great.
On the Ultra, I want more separation. Right now both the M4 Max and the M3 Ultra start at 36GB of RAM. If the M5 Ultra started with more RAM than the M5 Max, that would give people a real reason to spend the extra $1,500 to $1,600 on the Ultra chip.
New full-size HomePods with faster Siri
I have had the second-generation HomePods since release day and I use them every single day. They are pricey, but they fill a large room with sound, there is real depth, and the low end is surprising. Over the years the Siri support has improved a lot and AirPlay is more reliable than ever.
The biggest improvement a new generation could make is faster Siri. Sometimes the processor on the second-gen HomePods lags a little when you ask it a question, and with the new Siri coming, I want the best possible performance here. Honestly, even if Apple did not touch the sound quality at all, I would still appreciate a new version with better Siri.
A cellular MacBook Air with an upgraded screen
This is my last dream, and I know what some of you will say: Adam, that is basically a MacBook Pro. It is not. I am talking about a MacBook Air, so that lightweight, thin form factor that is 0.7 pounds lighter than the current MacBook Pro.
Upgrade it to an OLED screen, or even mini-LED, which would already beat the display on today’s Air. Add 120Hz ProMotion for smooth scrolling and put a cellular chip inside. Now you have an ultra-bright screen that is always connected to the internet, which makes it the perfect machine for on-the-go work and productivity.
Bottom line
Those are my five products I would love to see Apple release in 2026. A few of them, like the M5 Mac Mini and a fuller Mac Studio lineup, feel close to inevitable. The others, like the 11-inch MacBook Neo and a cellular Air, are wishes I am holding onto because I think they would genuinely fill a gap.
